Early Stage Financing (VFF)

What is Early Stage Financing?

This is a government loan for conducting a proof of concept of an innovative product or service. The loan and the interest calculated thereon must be repaid. The interest rate is 9.1% (2024). No (personal) collateral is required.

Who is Early Stage Financing intended for?

Innovative start-ups, for example entrepreneurs with an R&D declaration , can receive a loan covering 100% of the costs, up to a maximum of €350,000. The innovative start-up must have a letter of intent from an investor for the follow-up to Early Stage Financing, namely bringing the product or service to market. The amount of this investment must be at least equal to the amount for which a loan is requested.

What are the requirements to claim the VFF?

• You have not yet started your early-stage trajectory (proof of concept).
• You will complete the project within at least 2 years.
• The costs for performing VFF amount to a minimum of €50,000 and a maximum of €350,000.
• A letter of intent from an investor to invest at least the same amount as the early-stage loan after the PoC process.

Apply for Early Stage Financing

Vectrix can assist you with drafting and submitting the required plans. The scheme is implemented by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) or a regional development agency. Among other things, a business plan and an early-stage plan must be prepared. Additionally, we can help you find an investor who issues a letter of intent for financing following the early-stage process.
